SAK Ethiopia is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting children living on the streets and vulnerable families across Ethiopia through acts of kindness that provide safety, education, nourishment, and empowerment.

Who founded SAK Ethiopia?

It was founded by Tilahun Getnet, a former street child whose life was transformed by kindness and who is now committed to giving hope to others.

Where does SAK Ethiopia operate?

Our work is based in Ethiopia, with outreach programs in Addis Ababa and support for vulnerable families across the country.

How long has SAK Ethiopia been serving children and families?

For over 10 years, we’ve been walking alongside children and families, providing care and opportunities for brighter futures.

What types of programs do you offer?

We focus on feeding, education, vocational training, family reintegration, health support, and community empowerment.

Do you have safe housing for children?

Yes, we are actively developing safe, nurturing spaces where children can live, heal, and grow.

How do you support education?

We provide school feeding, tuition support, tutoring, and vocational training to ensure children can learn and thrive.

Do you only help children?

While children are our focus, we also support vulnerable families — especially single mothers — with skills, training, and income opportunities.

How do you help families stay together?

We reunite children with families whenever possible and provide counseling, follow-up, and six months of income support to ensure stability.
